Corian® worktop colours and styles
It is important before choosing a colour from the Corian worktop collection that our clients understand limitations or restrictions for colours not designed for high traffic areas or for colours that have design limitations. For this purpose we have provided you with the following information and all colours accompanied by an asterisk * in our colour options for quote calculation, fall into this category.
Corian worktop colours with limitations for residential kitchen use:
VEINED SERIES: Aztec Gold, Burled Beach, Chamois, Cinnabar, Clamshell, Earth, Egyptian Copper, Lava Rock, Rain Cloud, Sagebrush, Slate, Sonora, Tumbleweed Venaro White Verde
The Veined Series are the Corian worktop colors with a veining pattern in them. These colors are perfectly suitable for residential use. We have completed many beautiful installations with veining patterns, but we must give you one important warning: It is impossible to guarantee a seamless look with the veined product. In some areas where two pieces are joined together, it is likely that the veining will not align, with a difference that's noticeable to the eye. At corners, the veined directions might cross one another. This may be objectionable.
Corian worktop colours not recommended for residential kitchen use:
Adobe, Azure, Black Quartz, Cargo, Cinnabar, Cobalt, Concrete, Earth, Fawn, Flint, Lava Rock, Medea, Moss, Night Sky, Pewter, Ruby, Sand, Serene Sage, Shale, Silt, Sonora, Sienna Brown, Stone Harbor, Storm Blue, Suede, Turkish Blue
JEWEL SERIES are Corian colors that are particularly dark or densely pigmented. These colors show wear and scratches to a much greater degree than other colors. The counter tops will be manufactured and installed to our usual high standards, but after installation they will require increased care and maintenance on the homeowner's part. If you choose to select one of these colors, we have a written disclaimer for clients to sign.
Corian colours that should never be used for kitchen use:
DESIGN SERIES: Hot, Lilac, Mandarin, Nocturne, Sun and Graphic Blue
The Design Series are a series of solid colors, which are stark, bright, deeply saturated. These colors were developed as accent colors. These colors are not acceptable for residential use. They cannot be seamed effectively; they bruise and mar easily. We do not feel that any customer would be satisfied with the use of these colors for residential use.
MICA SERIES: Anthracite, Blackberry Ice, Bronze Patina, Camel, Cirrus White, Ecru, Natural Grey, and Pompei Red
The Mica Series are the Corian colors with Mica in them. The Mica does not run through the entire thickness of the Corian material. The front edges and any coved areas will not have the Mica running completely through them, and will subsequently look oddly different from the counter top deck. Normal Corian tooling cannot cut throught the Mica particulate without being damaged.
ILLUMINATION SERIES: Mint Ice, Lime Ice, Glacier Ice, Strawberry Ice and Blueberry Ice
The following link is to the Illumination series of colours that produce an optimum backlit effect These colours are again not recommended for use in the kitchen and are more suited to commercial applications. Certain Corian worktop colours can be backlit but the majority of the optimal effect colours are not recommended for use in the kitchen and a DuPont disclaimer applies to certain colours that fit into this category. Lighter colours such as Corian Glacier White, Corian Bone, Corian Cameo White, Corian Vanilla etc, will offer a better effect here and when backlighting these a space must be maintained between the light souce and the Corian surface.
On another point, of the colours that are available with the DuPont warranty for use as a kitchen surface, Sienna Brown, Medea and Pewter are among those that we would not personally recommend for use as a kitchen surface due to the greater likelihood of issues, among which are, visiblity of the seams after installation.

Boat and Yacht Owners
Corian® has become increasingly popular with marine architects because of its unique combination of aesthetics and functionality. Highly durable and easy to repair, Corian® is a sensible choice for areas exposed to moisture, UV rays and extreme temperatures. Corian® is the surface material of choice on yachts, cruise ships, ferries, naval vessels, houseboats, offshore platforms, sailboats and powerboats.
Dentists, Surgeries, Hopitals, Healthcare Practices
Today's healthcare facilities recognize the importance of creating environments that encourage comfort and healing, eliminating the cold institutional feeling that formerly prevailed in hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare settings. But an aesthetically-pleasing interior only works if it is easy to clean and maintain. Combined with its durability, the inherent hygienic properties of Corian® - recently recognized by the award of a Hygiene Certificate by LGA QualiTest GmbH, the prestigious German independent product testing centre – make it suitable for many healthcare environments.
